From September 30 to October 2, 2024, the CRC 1333 Summer School took place in Überlingen at the beautiful Lake Constance. Our doctoral students meet once a year for three days to share their latest research results, find potential new collaboration partners for their projects and of course to socialize and network.
The event was organized by the doctoral representatives Alexander Beck (Project C03) and Liam Rautenbach (Project B06).
The program included three workshops, organized by different groups of doctoral student on the topics of Science Communication, DFT Basics and Phyton Basics. There were also several presentations giving an overview of the students’ current work and providing information about possible collaborations.
A highlight of the three days was a guest lecture by Prof. Xavi Ribas from the University of Girona, Spain on the topic of “Supramolecular Nanocapsules as Masks for Regioselective Functionalization of Fullerenes”. Many thanks to him for the truly inspiring talk and to everyone for the lively discussion.
A big “Thank you” to Alex and Liam for their enthusiasm and commitment as doctoral respresentatives and for organizing this wonderful summer school.
And at the same time a “Thank you and welcome” to our newly elected doctoral representatives: Alina Bauer (Project B06) and Martina Paetsch (Project B05).
